Criticism stings.
At some point in your life, it’s highly likely that the fear of someone being critical has stopped you from:
Engaging in a new interest or hobby
Taking on greater responsibility at work
Introducing yourself to a thought leader at a conference or networking event
Starting that business that has been rattling around in your mind for months
(maybe even YEARS!)
And here’s the crazy part…
The people who you are afraid of criticizing your brave steps forward are DOING LESS than you are!!!
Seriously!!!!
I’ll bet if you look closely, you’ll see that it’s true.
People who are doing more brave things, taking on more responsibility, creating abundance in their lives, and living their dreams don’t spend precious time holding others back.
Yet… we worry… imagine… and then convince ourselves that we will be judged, with the result of that judgment being:
Shame
Embarrassment
Exposed Failure
Not belonging
I wish I could tell you that the criticism you fear most won’t come. The truth is, it might. Even if someone does criticize your bold step, it likely won’t sting near as much as you think it will.
This is especially true when you remember:
The person who criticizes you is doing less
People who truly care about you will support your adventures
Criticism is always negative - Make it your mission to bring more positivity into your day
Surround yourself with supportive people.
Take bold steps forward.
Purposely move outside of your comfort zone.
Do More Brave Things.
